DID standards

22nd July 2022

The World Wide Web Consortium (#w3c ) has announced that Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) v1.0 are now an official Web standard. DIDs are a new tool to empower everyone on the web with privacy-respecting online #identity and consent-based data sharing.

We believe that this is a big step forward in developing the ecosystem. This will enable individuals to own and control their #credentials seamlessly across the digital and physical worlds. Interoperability has been a key blocker, with more adoption of the VC and #DID standards we can unlock the potential of #selfsovereignidentity .
